A devastating fuel tanker explosion rocked Abuja’s Maitama area on Monday night, leaving three people injured. The tanker, loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, collided with a Sienna vehicle at Imani roundabout, triggering a massive fire.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as motorists and residents scrambled for safety, forcing alternative routes. The FCT fire department swiftly responded, battling to extinguish the blaze.
According to FCT Police Spokesperson Josephine Adeh, the injured victims – Idris Mohammed, Suleiman Gimba, and Adamu Isiayku – were rushed to Maitama District Hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. The police have confirmed the incident and assured further updates.
The explosion serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of road accidents and the importance of emergency response.
