The Traffic Monitoring and Investigation Unit of the ministry impounded 57 commercial vehicles and tricycles at Iyana Ipaja garage and its adjoining roads.

According to Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs, the operation focused on inbound and outbound traffic in the busy area, apprehending vehicles and tricycles for offenses such as illegal parking and picking up passengers at unauthorized spots.

“These violations disrupt traffic flow and contribute to congestion, making it difficult for law-abiding road users to navigate,” Ogunlola explained. “The enforcement operation successfully cleared the area of vehicular congestion and restored smooth traffic flow.”

The operation is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with traffic regulations, particularly in high-traffic zones. “The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation remains committed to maintaining order on our roads and will continue to carry out similar enforcement actions as necessary,” Ogunlola added.
