Tragic Loss: Gunmen Take Lives of PDP’s Raymond Timothy and Brother in Kaduna

Gunmen Kill PDP Councillorship Candidate and Brother in Kaduna.

Raymond Timothy, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) councillorship candidate in Kaduna State, and his brother James Timothy, were brutally murdered by unknown gunmen on Sunday, September 29. The attack occurred while they were returning from a political campaign in Kizachi Village, Pari Ward, Kauru Local Government Area.

Barnabas Chawai, a PDP chieftain, confirmed the incident and expressed concerns that the killing might be politically motivated . He urged security agencies to take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further violence ahead of the October 19 local government elections.

“It’s devastating,” Chawai said. “The victim left behind a pregnant wife and three children. Drastic measures need to be put in place to forestall further occurrences”.

John Wanneh, Secretary to the Village Head of Kizachi, recounted that he was with Raymond until around 6 p.m. on Sunday before they parted ways. Moments later, gunshots rang out near nearby guinea corn farms, leading to the discovery of the murders.

The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to comment on the incident.
