Two Suspects Arrested for Transformer, Cable Theft in Edo
Edo State Police Command has arrested two individuals, KC Okojie Prince and Aruka Uche, for allegedly stealing electricity transformers and cable wires in Benin City. According to State Commissioner of Police, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo, the theft occurred on August 11, 2024, at No. 8 Idugboe Estate, off Sapele road, where unknown persons gained unauthorized access and made off with electrical equipment, including two transformers and cable wires.
An investigation by X-Squad operatives led to Prince’s arrest, who confessed to committing the crime with an accomplice, Ojo, currently at large. Prince also revealed the receiver of the stolen items, Aruka Uche, leading to the recovery of all equipment at No. 5 Eben Street, off Akpakpava, Benin-City.
The police are still working to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

– One 300kva transformer
– One 100kva transformer
– Two drums 2.5mm flex cable wire
